Nurse Practitioner

As a Registered Nurse/Registered Psychiatric Nurse with Fraser Health, you will provide and coordinate the delivery of psychiatric nursing care services to patients in the Virtual Psychiatry Unit.
Key Responsibilities- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care of assigned patients.
- Identify actual or potential problems and strengths through nursing diagnosis, plan interventions, perform planned interventions, and evaluate outcomes.
- Actively participate in and support the total therapeutic program of the Unit.
- Communicate and consult with members of the health care team about patients' care, set priorities, assign and delegate tasks to support staff, and participate in interprofessional conferences.
- Advocate to protect and promote patients' rights to autonomy, respect, privacy, dignity, and access to information.
- Participate in quality improvement activities and research by identifying patient care issues and collecting data.
- Perform phlebotomy duties in accordance with BCCNM standards of practice.
- Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse and/or Registered Psychiatric Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
- May require completion of a substance use certificate program.
- One year recent related experience in inpatient mental health services, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Current Class 5 Driver's License and access to personal vehicle for business-related purposes.
