Job Title: Heavy Duty Mechanic

Job Summary:

The Heavy Duty Mechanic is a critical role at Secure Energy, responsible for the maintenance and repair of heavy construction and industry-specific equipment. This position requires a high level of technical expertise, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment, including oil changes, filter replacements, and hydraulic system checks.
  • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical issues, including air and hydraulic systems, power and drive trains, and steering and suspension systems.
  • Lead by example and drive SECURE's safety policies and procedures, ensuring a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Provide clear direction and leadership to heavy duty mechanics, welders, and other team members, promoting a culture of teamwork and collaboration.
  • Assist with general upkeep of the shop and yard, ensuring a clean and organized workspace.

Requirements:

  • Journeyman's Certification as Heavy Equipment Technician, through successful completion of a Provincially regulated Apprenticeship Program, or equivalent credentials/work experience as determined by Provincial guidelines/requirements.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of related industry work experience or demonstrated competency.
  • Welding experience an asset.
  • Valid and current Class 5 Driver's License with clean driver's abstract (air brake endorsement preferred).
  • Ability to complete safety documentation in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Expert knowledge level and full competency with respect to maintenance, servicing, diagnosing malfunctions, and repairing heavy duty equipment and vehicles.
