User Interface Technologist for EA SPORTS FC

We are redefining football with EA SPORTS FC, a genre-leading ecosystem of interactive experiences. This role is part of our Experience Design practice that brings UX and UI together to create highly delightful and state-of-the-art mobile gaming experiences.

About the Role

You will work closely with the Game Design Director and partners from the Experience Design Team, Engineering, Game Design, Production, Art Direction, and Creative Direction to create experiences that surprise, delight, and inspire millions of players around the world. Your mission will be to transform the gaming vision and experience of FC into an elegant and intuitive mobile experience that seamlessly integrates into a delightful user experience of FC.

  • Translate design mockups into functional screens and UI components, maintaining visual accuracy and consistency with design guidelines.
  • Work closely with Experience Designers, Engineers, Producers, and Game Design to implement versatile front-end solutions for player's experiences on mobile.
  • Deliver innovative, engaging prototypes using the latest in front-end technologies.
  • UI animations and effects creation using Web and React Native.
  • Crafting visual and interactive solutions that leverage and evolve an established FC Design System and Visual Identity.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to build on brand and expand brands. You will collaborate with engineering and art teams, explaining both the art team needs and the tech constraints. High-fidelity rapid prototyping for UX evaluation is also a key aspect of this position.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have technical skills and the ability to quickly learn new proprietary production tools and workflow. Adept or be able to quickly learn various Object Oriented programming languages and scripts (e.g., Javascript, HTML, CSS, React, Storybook) is essential. Familiarity with scripting languages like Python and proficiency with Adobe CC (Photoshop, After Effects) and other graphics and animation applications are also required.

  • A minimum of 1+ year of experience creating 3D motion graphics or interfaces with game engines such as Unreal or Unity.
  • Visual animation and programming skills.
  • Understanding of user experience principles and knowledge around ios and android patterns.
  • Understanding of revision version control software.

Degree in a relevant visual art or technical subject (e.g., BSc Computer Science or Game Programming, Game Art and Design Diploma) is highly desired. Bonus points: Passion for sports (football) and sports games.

Benefits

We offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees.

Estimated Salary Range:

$120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
