About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Process Engineer to join our team at Ionada. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for developing and designing gas generating, compression, purification, storage, fuel cell processes, and assemblies required by the department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and design gas generating, compression, purification, storage, fuel cell processes, and assemblies.
  • Ensure designs meet ISA, ANSI, and general North American Industry practices.
  • Oversee project design documentation, organization, and upkeep, including drawing filing for projects and components.
  • Verify drawings prior to issue and communicate with relevant clients and suppliers.
  • Effectively communicate technical details with management, project leaders, engineers, production team members, suppliers, and customers.
  • Plan task execution, prepare initial designs, and contribute to manpower and volume of work estimation.
  • Liaise with other Hydrogenics members on design adaptations and changes, recommending and implementing design adaptations and changes.
  • Involved in component sourcing, acquisition, and testing.

Requirements:

  • 5-10 years of mechanical or chemical and systems design experience and manufacturing.
  • Degree in either Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
  • Extensive experience with mechanical and chemical process design and electro-mechanical systems integration.
  • Familiar with 3D equipment models, assemblies, 2D parts & assemblies, process flow and instrumentation diagrams, and electrical schematics.
  • 5-10 years experience with Solid Edge, ANSI, ISA AutoCAD, and Inventor.
  • CFD experience is a plus.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
  • Practical experience in sizing, designing, testing, and integrating electromechanical systems.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Organizational skills relating to task management are exceptional.
  • Maintains accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of work.

Work Environment:

5-days a week, in-person/on-site positions. Work Location: Toronto (Hwy 404/Finch).
