Municipal Infrastructure Project Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Municipal Infrastructure Project Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Municipal Infrastructure Engineering Group, you will be responsible for overseeing municipal infrastructure projects, including asset management studies, renewal of roads/streets, utilities, sewers, and mains, stormwater management and drainage, intersection design, traffic management, water and wastewater capacity studies, and water distribution network design.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee preliminary and detail design.
  • Identify and solve complex engineering design issues in order to satisfy clients' needs while adhering to applicable policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Complete preliminary and detailed design calculations in order to support engineering recommendations.
  • Prepare project estimates, budget, schedules, and execution plans.
  • Undertake technical and feasibility studies including site investigations.
  • Prepare technical documentation including letters, reports, drawings, specifications, and construction contract documents.
  • Contribute to business development and marketing activities for existing and new clients and undertake the preparation of technical proposals.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
  • Licensed as a Professional Engineer in Ontario.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience related to the Key Responsibilities noted above.
  • Solid knowledge of principles and practices of proposal submissions, project delivery, and contract administration.
  • Solid understanding of engineering, theory, concepts, and regulations related to the field of work.
  • Solid understanding of the principles and practices of budget development and financial management within the consulting industry.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the Ontario Health and Safety Act as it relates to supervision of staff and field work.
  • Excellent communication skills, including mediation and negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrated analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to manage multiple projects or issues simultaneously.
  • Exceptional time management skills to meet critical timelines.
