We're seeking an experienced Accounting Specialist to join our growing team at Intact Financial Corporation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage monthly, quarterly, and year-end internal reporting in collaboration with various departments, including finance teams.
  • Prepare underwriting results and expense forecasts to support informed business decisions.
  • Analyze underwriting results closely with the actuarial team to identify areas for improvement.
  • Support business units in tracking their workflow to ensure seamless operations.
  • Participate in initiatives to enhance financial systems and accounting processes, driving efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Contribute to the budget process for underwriting results and operating expenses, providing valuable insights.
  • Critically evaluate controls in place and accounting treatments related to operations, making recommendations for improvement.
  • Simplify, standardize, and improve controls of different work files to optimize productivity.
Requirements
  • Professional accounting designation (CPA) or equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • At least three to five years of relevant experience in accounting, IFRS accounting standards, and finance.
  • Knowledge of the insurance industry and its nuances.
  • Fast learning, agility, and adaptability to change, ensuring seamless integration into our dynamic environment.
  • Discipline, autonomy, and professionalism, reflecting our company values.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, as well as interpersonal skills, to effectively interact with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Ability to collaborate with people at all levels of the organization, including management and external partners.
  • Bilingualism is required for candidates located in Quebec, considering regular interactions with English-speaking colleagues across the country.
