About the Role

The IT Audit Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring the effectiveness of our IT operations and identifying key technology risks. As a member of our Internal Audit team, you will provide independent, objective assurance and consulting activity to add value and improve our IT operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop annual SOX plans to address internal controls over business and financial systems, applications, and infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with IT governance to update process documentation and control descriptions.
  • Review and update IT audit test plans to ensure key risks are addressed.
  • Complete testing of IT controls, including preparation of working papers outlining test plans, fieldwork, and documentation of outcomes.
  • Lead IT operational audits to examine the efficiency and effectiveness of processes to mitigate key IT risks.
  • Maintain quality of audit processes and documentation in accordance with the IPPF.

Requirements

  • Relevant post-secondary education.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in IT auditing.
  • Completion of CISA certification.
  • Professional certifications, such as CIA, CISSP, or CISM, are a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of the IPPF and COBIT or similar frameworks.
  • Working knowledge of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.
