Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled HVAC Technician/Plumber to join our team at the Portage la Prairie School Division. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, maintain, and repair HVAC systems, including boilers, steam systems, and gas fitting
  • Perform plumbing work, including pipefitting and welding
  • Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on HVAC systems to ensure optimal performance and safety
  • Collaborate with other facilities staff to ensure seamless operation of our facilities
  • Develop and implement procedures to improve efficiency and reduce energy consumption
Requirements
  • Manitoba Certification in Power Engineering (4th Class), Gas Ticket (Class B), and Journeyman Plumber
  • Strong knowledge of boiler operations, chemical treatment of hot water and steam systems, and plumbing principles
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Grade 12 standing or equivalent
  • Valid Driver's Licence
  • Physically and medically fit to perform assigned duties
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
