About This Role

We seek a dedicated and knowledgeable instructor to teach Anthropology 101 (Introduction to Cultural Anthropology) and Anthropology 205 (Anthropology of Religion) at our Castlegar campus.

Main Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging instruction to students in Anthropology at the 100- and 200-level.
  • Maintain a positive learning environment that fosters student growth and development.
  • Provide constructive feedback to students, promoting academic excellence and achievement.
  • Evaluate student progress and ensure alignment of course outcomes and assessments.
Skill Requirements
  • Demonstrate a learner-centred teaching philosophy.
  • Engage students from diverse backgrounds and abilities with exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • Possess excellent communication skills, including written and verbal expression.
  • Showcase strong organizational, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Have knowledge of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission Report and its Calls to Action.
Qualifications
  • Hold a Master's degree in Anthropology or a related field.
  • Demonstrate successful post-secondary teaching experience.
  • Experience with the Moodle Learning Management System is an asset.
Compensation and Benefits

This is a short-term, part-time position (41%) commencing August 19, 2024. The salary range is $2,709.12 -$4,341.23 bi-weekly (at 100% appointment), based on qualifications and experience.
