Southbridge Care Homes is seeking a skilled Dietitian Consultant to join our team. As a Dietitian Consultant, you will play a crucial role in delivering support and expertise to our portfolio of Long-Term Care and Retirement homes.
Key Responsibilities:- Oversight of Dietary functions to ensure resident safety and quality of care.
- Consultation with Medical and professional staff to determine nutritional needs and therapeutic diets for residents.
- Review and input on seasonal menus and recipes to ensure compliance with nutritional standards.
- Identification and mitigation of unsafe conditions or practices in Dietary departments.
- Collaboration with Dietary Managers to ensure adherence to Fixing Long-Term Care Homes Act 2021 and Retirement Homes Act.
- Recruitment and onboarding of new Dietary Managers, including education and training.
- Maintenance of policies and procedures, and leading new initiatives and projects.
- Routine consultative support to all homes, including auditing of kitchen and food storage areas, meal production sheets, dining service, and resident experience.
- Quality control of services and products provided by Dietary departments.
- Maintenance of records, statistics, and reports in accordance with internal and external policies and guidelines.
- Degree from a University with a Major in Food and Nutrition.
- Registered Dietitian; Membership with the College of Dietitians of Ontario in good standing.
- 3+ years management experience in a Long-Term Care setting in a similar role.
- Exceptional ability to operate independently or as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to exercise tact and diplomacy.
- Knowledge of the Fixing Long-Term Care Homes Act, 2021 and the Retirement Homes Act.
- Excellent interpersonal, project, time management, and communication skills.
- Willingness to travel extensively throughout the Ottawa Ontario region.
