Data Engineer

We're seeking a skilled Data Engineer to join our team at ISG Search Inc. in the GTA. As a Data Engineer, you'll play a critical role in designing and scaling our data infrastructure, collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance data reliability and performance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, build, and maintain complex ETL pipelines using AWS EMR, Redshift, Kafka, S3, Airflow, and other technologies.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, software engineers, and product managers to develop high-quality, efficient code in Python and PySpark.
  • Research and implement new technologies to meet evolving data infrastructure needs, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.
  • Develop new tools and services to handle large datasets, improving memory, CPU, and disk space management.
  • Help solve scalability issues and improve data infrastructure systems.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering, with strong expertise in data infrastructure and ingestion.
  • Proven ability to write high-quality code in PySpark.
  • Expert knowledge in AWS EMR or GCP Data Proc/Dataflow.
  • Experience working with large-scale data infrastructure, managing and scaling complex data pipelines.
  • Strong understanding of database fundamentals and experience with batch processing and streaming systems.
Nice to Have:
  • Familiarity with technologies like Redshift, Airflow, AWS Glue, Sagemaker, Looker, Golang, and Kafka.
  • Experience querying large datasets using tools like Parquet files and columnar databases.
  • Software development background or a degree in Computer Science is highly preferred.
