Job Title: Tour Guide - Cultural Ambassador

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tour Guide to join our team at Rocky Mountain Scenic Tours Ltd. As a Tour Guide, you will be responsible for leading groups of tourists through scenic routes, providing information about local attractions, and ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive sightseeing or tour vehicle
  • Confirm transportation and accommodation reservations
  • Collect administration or entrance fees
  • Co-ordinate recreation activities
  • Describe points of interest, answer questions and supply information
  • Resolve itinerary and other problems
  • Ensure and monitor luggage transfers
  • Assist clients with check-in procedures for accommodation and/or transportation
  • Utilize microphones or other communication device to provide directions and other pertinent information to visitors
  • Co-ordinate activities with local tour guides or leaders of performance groups
  • Provide information on tipping customs, currency exchange rates, metric conversion and other details
  • Assist clients/guests with special needs
  • Conduct guided tours of museums, gallery exhibitions and historical, heritage and other sites, answer inquiries and provide information
  • Transport or escort individuals or groups on tours of cities, waterways and industrial and other establishments

Requirements:

  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience
  • College/CEGEP education
  • Excellent oral communication skills
  • Dependability, reliability, and team player skills

Work Environment: The work environment is outdoors, and the physical demands of the job include walking and working under pressure.

Language: English or French

Asset Languages: Mandarin and Cantonese

Geographical Areas of Specialization: Canada and China

Support for Youths: We offer on-the-job training tailored to youth.
