  • A minimum of a Grade 12 Diploma, or equivalent and 2-3 years purchasing experience, preferably in the manufacturing sector
  • Knowledge of MRP systems and excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • A positive and constructive attitude, with the ability to manage a range of priorities and detail-oriented with the ability to learn tasks quickly
  • A positive and co-operative team player, with the ability to work with minimal supervision and communicate effectively to inspire confidence from supervisors, peers and subordinates

Key responsibilities include:

  • Purchasing materials for production, engineering and others on purchase order
  • Sourcing materials, negotiating price, delivery, specifications and quantity with suppliers
  • Reviewing Exception Reports to ensure orders effectively satisfy current requirements, updating PO's as necessary
  • Ensuring all PO dates in MAX reflect the most recent agreement with the vendor and any overdue order is addressed daily
  • Internal Product Requests and communicating with suppliers regarding discrepancies between shipment received and pack slip quantity or product
