CNC Machinist Operator

At Waterford Executive, we are seeking a skilled CNC Lathe Setup Operator to join our team. As a key member of our manufacturing department, you will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC Lathe machines to produce high-quality parts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Setup and operate CNC Lathe machines to produce parts with precision and accuracy.
- Use proper tools and techniques to align vises, fixtures, and indicator to ensure parallel or square alignment.
- Indicate position of the fixture and parts to ensure accurate placement.
- Set Lathe to correct position using numeric codes and make dry runs to check programs for errors.
- Modify and grind cutting tools as needed to ensure maximum efficiency.
- Check first parts for dimensions within tolerance and make adjustments as necessary.
- Keep production running by deburring and preparing parts for loading into vise or fixture.
- Use time efficiently to check parts, clean tools, and prepare for next job.
- Prepare tools and fixtures for next job, including getting new tools and regrinding tools from the tool crib.
- Plan ahead for special tools and ensure they are available when needed.
- Operate machine with proper guarding in place and report any damaged guarding, tool holders, or tools.
- Assist with big part changes as needed and ensure guard for tool drum is in place after setup.
- Check oil levels of machine and maintain good condition.
- Follow company Health and Safety Policy and practice safe work habits, industrial hygiene, and good housekeeping around benches and machines.
