Ambulatory Setting Job Summary
This position is responsible for providing clinical and administrative support in various ambulatory settings, including primary, multi-specialty, and specialty practices. The successful candidate will assist providers with patient care, handle clerical and environmental tasks, and maintain a working knowledge of regulatory standards.
Responsibilities and Expectations
The following responsibilities and expectations are inherent in this role:
- Assist providers with patient care, including taking vital signs and performing EKGs, venipunctures, capillaries, and injections.
- Handle clerical and environmental tasks, such as answering phones, processing paperwork, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
- Maintain a working knowledge of regulatory standards and ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
Education and Certification Requirements
A High School Diploma or Equivalent is required, as well as a Graduate degree from a post-secondary medical assisting education program accredited by NJAC(13:35-6.4) approved certifying body. Current certification from a recognized certifying board approved by NJ Board of Medical Examiners is also mandatory. BLS/CPR certification through the American Heart Association is highly valued.
