Electrical Design Engineer Position for Power Electronics

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join our team at Murata Power Solutions, Inc. This is a dynamic role that requires a strong background in power electronics and excellent design skills.
About the Role:- This position involves supporting senior-level engineers on complex power supply development projects, including leading sub-projects with small to medium complexity.
- You will have opportunities to grow into a senior or principal design management position as you gain experience and contribute to the team's success.
- Receive guidance from principal or senior level engineers on complex design approaches.
- Ensure the technical integrity of your designs.
- Interface with customers to communicate technical information when required.
- Mentor junior engineers and technologists working on the project.
- Evaluate and implement innovative ideas to enhance the design process.
- Implement microcontroller firmware and hardware for power management and control functions in power supplies.
- Design circuits and perform tests and evaluations for design verification and integrity.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest innovations and trends in power electronics.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electronics Engineering.
- Experience with wideband gap devices like SiC and GaN devices and their application in power electronics circuits.
- Familiarity with analog circuit design (transistor level, op-amps, D/A, A/D, interfaces with micro-controllers, sensing techniques, and calibration).
- Theoretical knowledge and practical experience in control theory techniques, Z-transformation, and digital control systems for power electronics applications.
- Experience in electronic packaging (high-density SMT, PCB layout techniques, planar transformers, EMI, thermal).
- Hands-on experience in product development activities: bench instrumentation, soldering parts, breadboarding, and testing circuits.
- Good understanding of specified parameters of power MOSFETs, diodes, op-amps, GaN, SiC, comparators, gate drivers, and digital gates.
- Knowledge of embedded design and microcontrollers as it applies to power supply design is an asset.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary engineering team.
This is an on-site role with one flex day per week of remote work.

Estimated Salary: $85,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
