Job Summary:The Department of Forest and Conservation Sciences at the University of British Columbia invites applications for a tenure-track position in Freshwater Ecological Sciences at the Assistant Professor level. The successful candidate will lead world-class research in freshwater ecosystems, with a focus on links between aquatic ecosystem function and surrounding land-use, cumulative effects, biodiversity, connectivity among systems, and pollution/contaminants.
Key Responsibilities:- Establish an innovative, externally-funded and internationally-competitive research program in freshwater ecological sciences
- Supervise graduate students and postdoctoral fellows
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in aquatic sciences
- Participate in service to the department, university, and academic/scientific community
The successful applicant will have a PhD, postdoctoral experience, and a strong record of research achievements in the field. What We Offer:The University of British Columbia offers a competitive salary range of $100,000 - $130,000/year, as well as a comprehensive benefits package and a dynamic work environment.
