About the Role

SCHUNK GmbH & Co. KG is seeking a highly skilled Automation Specialist to join our team. As an Automation Specialist, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of industrial automation and production.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Team Leader and product sales team in the development, sales, distribution, and support of SCHUNK components.
  • Review customer requests for quotes and specifications, and interpret drawings and other customer documents.
  • Develop customer design specifications and coordinate development with the customer and SCHUNK Design Engineering team.
  • Follow-up on prototype product design and application issues with the customer, making required changes to meet customer requirements and quality standards.
  • Prepare and deliver quotes and sales orders to customers, and track and follow up on quotes and sales orders.
  • Develop a design and production schedule that meets customer and SCHUNK business requirements, coordinating design, production, and delivery with appropriate teams and facilities.
  • Provide technical service and training presentations to customers and representatives relating to SCHUNK component's use, operation, and maintenance.
  • Provide customer support by phone and on-site.
  • May enter customer quotes and sales orders into the AS400 system, tracking the order process and follow-up through delivery of the product.
  • Perform duties of the Technical Specialist and Customer Service Representative when necessary to meet business and customer needs.

Requirements:

  • Use initiative to provide customer service assistance.
  • Exceptional organization skills.
  • Ability to recognize and analyze problems, develop, implement, and carry out solutions.
  • Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Ability to work effectively in a small team environment with Management, Technical Specialist, other Applications Engineers, Marketing, CSR, and Inside and Outside sales staff.
  • Ability to use initiative to identify and solve customer and product delivery problems.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and projects, coordinating priorities with team members.
  • Ability to quickly understand the component manufacturing and sales industry and SCHUNK product lines.

Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or technology discipline or an equivalent combination of training, education, and experience.
