Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a Psychiatrist to join our mental health team on the beautiful Sunshine Coast. This hospital-based position in Powell River, BC, offers a unique opportunity to serve diverse mental health and addiction needs. The successful candidate will work in a combination of outpatient and inpatient settings, with no overhead and no call. There is an option to choose between solely inpatient or outpatient work. Comprehensive allied health care supports are available on-site, including ACT, ICMT, counseling, and close collaborative care with family physicians, nurse practitioners, and specialists. ECT is provided on site. If you enjoy acute and varied team-based work, this position is for you. Applicants with leadership and quality/program improvement experience or training would be a good fit, and physician leadership education incentives are available.
The region boasts outdoor beauty, recreational opportunities, international music programs, high-level hockey programming, excellent schools, and much more. May be eligible for additional remuneration in accordance with the Rural Subsidiary Agreement (RSA) including: Retention Premium 8.82% (physically located in the RSA community). Rural Incentives are subject to change and current rates are confirmed at time of offer.

- Current College of Physicians of BC (CPSBC)- Provisional/Mandatory
- Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada (FRCPC)- Mandatory
- Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)- Mandatory
