Job Summary

SIIT is seeking a qualified Instructor, Multi-Trades to join our team. As an Instructor, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality education to our students in a variety of settings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver course-related material and maintain program equipment, shop facilities, and materials to ensure a safe and organized work environment.
  • Use current technology advancements within all aspects of instruction and administration.
  • Use appropriate methods of instruction, modeling, coaching, etc. to facilitate student learning.
  • Use appropriate methods of evaluating and recording student progress within set time frames.
  • Seek professional development opportunities to keep current and relevant in applicable teaching areas, educational standards, industry trends, and best practices.

Requirements

  • Journeyperson certification in one of the following trades: Carpentry, Electrical, Welding, Industrial Mechanic, and/or Heavy Duty Equipment Technician.
  • Five years of work experience in that trade.
  • Working knowledge of the other trades.
  • Some prior teaching experience is preferred.
  • An understanding of adult learning theories and principles is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of First Nations culture and organizations, and prior experience teaching First Nations adults are considered assets.

Work Environment

This position is located in northern Saskatchewan and is a two-week on/two-week off rotational schedule with 11-hour work days. The incumbent will be required to fly in/fly out of the work location.
