About the Role
Corteva Agriscience is seeking a highly skilled Equipment Support Specialist to join our team at our Woodstock, Ontario facility. As a key member of our Research Equipment Support Team (REST), you will play a critical role in ensuring the effective deployment and support of common equipment across our North American research centers.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement plans to service and maintain field research equipment, including training and interacting with personnel at research centers.
- Assist with equipment selection, capacity planning, and budget development, as well as testing of new equipment and modifications to existing equipment.
- Provide troubleshooting expertise and hands-on training related to equipment maintenance and operation.
- Lead and model a safety-first mindset, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and proper PPE usage.
- Service, repair, maintain, and upgrade equipment directly or through vendors.
- Facilitate training for users, both one-on-one and in small group settings.
- Prepare equipment for shipment or storage, including cleaning, loading, and unloading per established procedures.
- Ensure proper parts inventory management and tools management.
- Conduct field and/or shop testing of equipment and performance validation.
- Perform administrative tasks, such as maintaining maintenance records, creating training materials, generating reports, and coding invoices for payment.
Requirements
- Associate degree in a related field, such as agriculture, mechanized agriculture, agricultural engineering, or industrial technology.
- Experience working with and/or maintaining agricultural equipment.
- Varying levels of experience with fabrication, mechanical ability, electrical concepts, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- High regard for safety and adherence to safety protocols.
- High attention to detail, ability to multitask, and maintain an organized workplace.
- Valid Canadian driver's license.
- Ability to travel within the assigned region, including overnights when necessary.
- Understanding of the cyclical nature of agriculture and sensitivity to time constraints.
- Ability to work overtime hours, including weekend work and on-call availability as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with agriculture field equipment.
- Previous experience in facilitating training.
- Valid passport.
