Position Overview



The Shared Health organization is seeking an experienced Ultrasound Clinical Instructor to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for teaching and evaluating the clinical skills of Ultrasound students in a collaborative environment.



Responsibilities


  • Teach and monitor the clinical skills of Ultrasound students
  • Assist with scheduling student clinical rotations and ensure they obtain practical scanning experience
  • Provide timely oral and written student progress reports
  • Function as a general duty sonographer when not scheduled with students to maintain scanning skills and learn new techniques


Requirements


  • Experience in General Ultrasound and Echocardiography
  • Five years' professional experience in a Health Care setting
  • Teaching experience and/or certification in education preferred
  • Experience working with Radiology Information System and Picture and Archiving system
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Radiography, Nursing, Nuclear Medicine, or similar related technical field
  • Diagnostic Ultrasound Training Certificate
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) or (RDSC)
  • Active member with Canadian Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers, American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers, and Canadian Association of Registered Diagnostic Ultrasound Professionals
  • Current Basic Life Support Certification
  • Province of Manitoba Class 5 Driver's License, and access to a personal vehicle to provide service within Prairie Mountain Health


Preferred Qualifications


  • Basic Current Life Support Instructor course
  • Evidence of continuing education/professional development
  • Competent with Windows-based programs (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • Demonstrated leadership, written and oral communication skills, ability to prioritize, and strong organizational and decision-making skills
