Job Title: Medical Care Specialist - Casual Emergency Response

Estimated Salary: $28-$35 per hour

Job Description:

We are seeking up to three casual Emergency Medical Responders (EMR) to join our team in Saskatoon, SK.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain current knowledge and skills to deliver optimal patient care in accordance with EMR Clinical Practice Protocols.
  • Safely operate MHS-W vehicles following MHS-W Health and Safety Manual, Operational Guidelines, and provincial and federal regulations.
  • Ensure vehicles are stocked and maintained in readiness at all times.
  • Provide patient care in hazardous environments while ensuring safety and stabilization.
  • Collaborate with outside agencies as part of a coordinated effort for patient care.
  • Document patient care, assessments, and skills within the patient care report in a timely manner.
  • Punctually start shifts and be ready to respond as needed.
  • Display professionalism and handle conflict situations with good judgment.
  • Familiarize yourself with the MHS-W chain of command.
  • Create fully completed Electric Patient Care Reports (ePCRs).
  • Maintain patient confidentiality according to provincial and federal regulations.
  • Report incidents and complete written incident report forms for the Operations Manager or designate.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Registration as an EMR with the Saskatchewan College of Paramedics or willingness to obtain.
  • A valid Saskatchewan Class 4 Driver's License (or equivalent)
  • CPR certification
  • A current (within last 60 days) valid and clean criminal record check, along with a vulnerable sector check.
  • A current (within last 30 days) driver's abstract.
  • Demonstrate teamwork and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Availability to work various shifts while maintaining a good attendance record.
  • High regard for confidentiality.
  • Excellent work habits and professionalism.
