Disability Claims Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Disability Claims Analyst to join our team at Royal Bank of Canada. As a Disability Claims Analyst, you will play a critical role in assessing and managing individual disability claims, ensuring they are reviewed fairly, processed accurately, and paid on time.
Key Responsibilities- Assess and approve claims based on policy contracts, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Deliver exceptional client service, managing reputational risk and building strong relationships with clients and partners.
- Manage a high volume of claims, calculate payments, and support clients in returning to work, while maintaining detailed records and following all necessary procedures.
- Make timely decisions, explain them clearly, and resolve issues with clients and partners, while protecting sensitive information and ensuring confidentiality.
- Work effectively with your team and others throughout the claims process, leveraging digital tools and collaboration to drive results.
- Post-secondary education or college diploma completed, with a preferred background in healthcare, finance, or a related field.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written in English, with excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Basic math skills with a solid understanding of financial information, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and stay organized.
- Exceptional client service and phone skills, with the ability to handle conversations empathetically, and proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Strong analytical thinking and a risk-management mindset, with the ability to adapt and manage change effectively.
