Job Title: Registered Practical Nurse - Medicine Oncology

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Practical Nurse to join our team in the Medicine Oncology department at William Osler Health System. As a key member of our inter-professional team, you will provide high-quality patient-focused nursing care to patients with less complex needs and predictable outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide safe and effective nursing care to patients, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care
  • Practice according to the nursing practice expectations set by Osler and the regulatory practice standards of the College of Nurses
  • Collaborate with the inter-professional team to develop and implement patient care plans
  • Provide health teaching to patients and families, including thorough discharge instructions
  • Respond to emergency situations and consult appropriately when necessary
Qualifications:
  • Recent experience in palliative and oncology nursing required
  • Proficient in core competencies for palliative care, including pain assessment tools
  • Palliative Care certificate or Certified Hospice Palliative Care Nurse certificate required
  • Foundation in oncology nursing practice course required
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively as a member of an inter-professional team
