Job Title: Gas Fitter-Installer

Dawe's Mechanical (1981) Limited is seeking a skilled Gas Fitter-Installer to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for installing, servicing, and repairing gas heating units and their components.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install gas heating units and their components, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations.
  • Measure and mark reference points for installation of gas lines and equipment, using precision tools and techniques.
  • Service gas heating units and their components, performing routine maintenance and repairs as needed.
  • Install and maintain meters and regulators, as well as gas lines between gas units and gas meters.
  • Repair and service gas appliances and related equipment, using specialized tools and techniques.
  • Advise clients on standards, safety features, and maintenance of gas units and systems, providing expert guidance and support.
  • Study drawings and specifications to determine the layout of the installation and materials required, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Test and adjust control mechanisms, checking pipes and piping connections for gas leaks using gas detecting devices.
  • Install and service propane and natural gas filling stations, ensuring safe and efficient operation.
  • Operate CADD and other computer software systems, using technical skills to design and plan installations.
  • Test and replace defective equipment or components, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum efficiency.
Requirements:
  • Gas Fitter Trade Certification
  • Valid driver's license
  • Criminal record check
  • Steel-toed safety boots
