We are seeking a highly skilled Transportation Engineer to join our Product Improvement Engineering team at New Flyer, North America's leading heavy-duty transit bus manufacturer. As a key member of this team, you will be responsible for designing and developing innovative transportation solutions that meet industry regulations, customer specifications, and manufacturing capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and Development: Lead the design process for new products, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and customer needs.
  • Project Management: Manage projects from concept to implementation, coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery and budget adherence.
  • Engineering Activities: Perform engineering calculations, analysis, and testing to verify component fit, product reliability, and manufacturability.
  • Documentation and Collaboration: Create and maintain accurate engineering drawings, release documents, and collaborate with vendors and customers on design-related issues.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent degree
  • Registered Professional Engineer (PEng) or Certified Engineering Technologist (CET)
  • 5-10 years of experience in mechanical design engineering, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality designs and meeting performance objectives
  • Proficiency in NX CAD software, TeamCenter, and engineering analysis tools
  • Strong project management skills, with experience working in fast-paced environments
