Job Description

Job Title: Part-Time Professor of Programming Languages

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly qualified Part-Time Professor of Programming Languages to teach a course on design and evaluation criteria for programming languages. The successful candidate will have excellent knowledge of the subject matter and be able to deliver lectures in a clear and engaging manner.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach a course on design and evaluation criteria for programming languages
  • Deliver lectures on syntactic and semantic description of programming languages
  • Teach basics of programming language implementation
  • Teach scripting languages
  • Compare design choices across programming paradigms
  • Teach basics of concurrency

Requirements:

  • Excellent knowledge of course subject matter
  • Demonstrated by having taught similar or related courses
  • Or demonstrated by relevant work experience
  • Regular applicants must have a doctorate in a field related to the course
  • Or relevant work experience in a field related to the course

Working Conditions:

The contract for this course will include a payment for 52 hours, and the part-time professor will be required to attend tutorials at least one hour per week.

Additional Information:

An acceptable level of education and/or experience could be viewed as being equivalent to the educational required and/or demonstrated experience.
