About Us: Donna Cona Inc. is a leading provider of crisis counseling services.
Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Crisis Counselor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in crisis counseling and experience working with Indigenous issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide crisis counseling services to clients in need;
- Work with Indigenous communities to develop and implement culturally sensitive counseling programs;
- Collaborate with other professionals to ensure comprehensive support for clients;
- Develop and maintain relationships with community partners to promote counseling services;
- Conduct assessments and develop treatment plans for clients;
- Provide education and training to community members on mental health and wellness;
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance counseling services.
Requirements:
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in crisis counseling or one (1) year of experience and an undergraduate degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related discipline;
- Experience working with Indigenous issues;
- Excellent customer service skills and sensitivity to handle stressful calls;
- Ability to communicate and write in English (French is an asset);
- Ability to communicate in Cree, Inuktitut, Ojibway, or any other Indigenous language (asset);
- Security clearance at the level of RELIABILITY (eligible).
