Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Estimator to join our team at Kiewit. As a Senior Estimator, you will play a critical role in reviewing, analyzing, and interpreting contract documents to develop detailed cost estimates for large, complex projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop comprehensive cost estimates for large, complex projects, including highways, bridges, mass transit, and hydroelectric powerhouses.
  • Supervise estimators in the preparation of check estimates and review estimates prepared by other estimating groups or JV partners.
  • Review owner plans and specifications to develop a comprehensive understanding of the project and develop a plan for the actual construction.
  • Conduct site investigations to identify any problems or conditions of an unusual nature that may be present.
  • Utilize engineering techniques and procedures to conduct investigations and adhere to standard company policy and procedures.
  • Perform design work as required by the project and handle any major technical problems encountered during bid preparation.
  • Stay abreast of trends and developments in the industry, including new equipment, methods, and procedures.
  • Prepare special engineering studies or reports required by certain bid items or conditions.
  • Consult with owners on various problems discovered during bid preparation, design, rates, schedules, etc.
Requirements
  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in Civil Engineering or Construction-related technology, or extensive and related work experience leading to a thorough understanding of the knowledge, skills, and abilities described above.
  • 7-10 years of related experience in civil infrastructure estimation, with extensive knowledge and demonstrated experience with infrastructure projects.
  • Exceptionally strong attention to detail, communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Experience with various estimating software systems and demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
  • Functional knowledge of English (written and verbal) is considered an asset.
