Early Childhood Educator, full-time opportunity

The YMCA of Northern Alberta is seeking a dedicated professional to provide high-quality care and service to families in our Childcare programs. This role involves implementing and teaching programs that promote the healthy development of children with additional needs.

This position will play a vital part in a family's journey of raising their children, providing one-on-one or shared support for children with disabilities. The FSCD Support position will work within the terms of an FSCD contract, creating goals in partnership with the child's family and other support professionals.

Essential Functions- Represent YMCA's values and mission, comply with all YMCA Policies, procedures, and Provincial Licensing regulations.
- Provide support to promote the child's healthy development.
- Encourage and support the child to participate in activities.
- Work with the family and other supporting professionals to set goals in development and participation.
- Complete required documentation and administrative tasks as needed.
- Guide and redirect children in situations when conflicts arise using positive child guidance techniques.
- Build relationships with families and communicate verbally and in writing daily.
- Commit to Health and Safety and Child Protection Policies and Procedures.
- Attend all required professional development and training opportunities.
- Provide a safe and clean environment following all cleaning procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
