We are seeking a highly motivated and physically capable Agricultural Labourer to join our team at Creekside Home and Garden for a seasonal opportunity.

About the Role

The successful candidate will assist in various tasks related to crop and vegetable growing, including planting, cultivating, irrigating, and harvesting crops. They will also be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of greenhouses, applying weeding techniques, and handling heavy loads.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who enjoy working outdoors, are comfortable with physical labour, and are able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Planting, Cultivating, and Irrigating Crops: Assist in planting seeds, transplanting seedlings, and maintaining the health of crops through irrigation and fertilization.
  • Maintaining Greenhouse Cleanliness: Ensure that greenhouses are clean and well-maintained to promote healthy plant growth.
  • Weeding and Hoeing: Apply weeding techniques to control weeds and maintain crop quality.
  • Harvesting Crops: Assist in harvesting vegetables and other crops according to schedules and requirements.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • No Formal Education Required: A high school diploma or equivalent is not necessary, as on-the-job training will be provided.
  • Physical Demands: The ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including standing for extended periods, bending, crouching, and kneeling.
  • Attention to Detail: The ability to distinguish between colours and pay attention to detail to ensure accurate results.
  • Team Player: The ability to work effectively in a team environment and contribute to the success of the organization.
Working Conditions and Physical Capabilities

As an Agricultural Labourer, you can expect to work in a variety of conditions, including:

  • Wet/Damp Environments: Working in greenhouses and outdoor environments where water may be present.
  • Dusty Environments: Working in areas where dust may be present, such as during soil preparation and crop maintenance.
  • Hot Environments: Working in direct sunlight and warm temperatures during peak growing seasons.
