About the Job
We are seeking an experienced Food Service Team Lead to join our team at Barakah Inc. As a key member of our restaurant operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring that our kitchen runs smoothly and efficiently, meeting the high standards of quality and service that we strive to maintain.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish effective methods to meet work schedules and ensure seamless day-to-day operations
- Requisition food and kitchen supplies as needed to maintain inventory levels
- Supervise and coordinate activities of staff who prepare and portion food, promoting a safe and healthy working environment
- Train staff in job duties, sanitation and safety procedures, and provide ongoing coaching and feedback to enhance performance
- Estimate ingredient and supplies required for meal preparation, managing inventory and minimizing waste
- Hire, train, and develop a high-performing team of food service staff
- Ensure that food and service meet quality control standards, maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction
- Prepare budget and cost estimates, analyzing data to inform business decisions
- Address customer complaints or concerns, resolving issues promptly and professionally
Requirements
- 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a similar role
- College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to think critically and make informed decisions
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities effectively
