Business Solutions Analyst Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Solutions Analyst to join our team at Foilcon. The ideal candidate will have expertise in business analysis, requirements elicitation, and agile delivery methodologies.



Key Responsibilities



  • Lead the elicitation, elaboration, analysis, and validation of business requirements and data needs

  • Facilitate workshops to gather requirements and create user stories

  • Support the design, implementation, and testing phases of projects

  • Collaborate with product managers and product owners to refine and groom the product backlog

  • Conduct feasibility analysis, scoping, and provide project work estimates

  • Work with developers to align business requirements with solution capabilities

  • Report progress on deliverables at regular team meetings

  • Proactively raise risks and propose mitigation strategies



Requirements



  • Proven experience in business analysis, requirements elicitation, and agile delivery methodologies

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

  • Experience working in agile teams and facilitating JAD/Sprint sessions

  • Knowledge of commercial off-the-shelf solution implementations, such as Oracle Siebel

  • Ability to document requirements using storyboarding tools, such as Jira

  • Experience with prototyping tools and business process mapping tools, such as Visio

  • Strong understanding of interaction design principles and ability to deliver mock-ups using advanced tools

  • Knowledge of accessibility standards, including AODA, and ability to ensure compliance

  • Strong research skills and ability to perform industry research and provide recommendations for solution improvements



Preferred Qualifications



  • Experience working in the public sector and knowledge of Ontario Public Service policies and procedures

  • Knowledge of the Simpler, Faster, Better Services Act and ability to support OPS' Digital First Strategy

  • Experience with Digital Service Standards and Service Design Playbook

  • Strong leadership skills and ability to provide advice and guidance on user experience and design

  • Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with ability to resolve issues in a timely manner
