About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Telecommunications Network Maintenance Specialist to join our team in Calgary, Alberta. This is a full-time opportunity with a competitive salary range of $85,000 - $110,000 per year.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining telecommunications equipment, including mini excavators, rubber tire backhoes, trenchers, dozers, skid steers, and other heavy machinery. You will work alongside crew members to ensure safe and efficient operations, adhering to industry standards and regulations.

Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain various types of heavy equipment, including mini excavators, rubber tire backhoes, trenchers, dozers, skid steers, and other machinery
  • Provide routine maintenance and light repairs to equipment to ensure optimal performance
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and procedures, including reading underground utility locates and following safe digging practices
  • Maintain a healthy and safe work environment for the crew, public, customers, and Ledcor employees
  • Assist with restoring job sites to their original state after completion
  • Monitor and report any equipment issues or malfunctions to the lead hand
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in heavy equipment operation
  • Valid Class 1 or Class 3 driver's license
  • Prior experience in telecommunications is an asset
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong knowledge of construction documents and ability to communicate daily production and materials
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
