We are seeking a skilled General Maintenance Worker to join our residential maintenance team in Surrey, British Columbia. This exciting opportunity will allow you to work on an established property and deliver exceptional maintenance support.

About the Role

  • Maintenance Responsibilities: Perform general building maintenance tasks under close supervision, including grounds maintenance, minor repairs, and cosmetic updates.
  • Labour Work: Complete various labour tasks assigned by the property and resident management team, such as loading, unloading, moving materials, and running errands.
  • Specialized Tasks: Paint, replace light bulbs/lamps, clean fixtures, move furniture, and respond quickly to emergency situations and resident concerns.
  • Monitoring and Janitorial Duties: Monitor landscaping, common areas, and parking facilities, and perform janitorial duties as needed.
  • Compliance and Safety: Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency directives, and practice safe work habits.

Required Skillsets

  • Knowledge and Equipment: Understand proper equipment usage, materials, and supplies used in maintenance work.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, effective communication, and the ability to work independently.
  • Availability and Flexibility: Be prepared to work extended periods without relief during priority/emergency situations, potentially requiring shift work and/or on-call duties.
  • Background Check and Driver's License: Pass a criminal background check and have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record and access to a reliable vehicle.

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent: Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Facilities and Building Maintenance Experience: Have 3-5 years of experience in facilities and building maintenance or relevant experience.
  • Certificate of Qualification (Optional): A Certificate of Qualification in Plumbing or Electrical may be considered an asset.

The estimated salary for this role is $45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
