Job Summary:

The Resource Coordinator is a key role in the delivery of personal care and home support services to Home Care Clients. This position is responsible for supervising and ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of services, as well as the recruitment, orientation, scheduling, supervision, and evaluation of Home Care Attendants, Home Support Workers, and Supportive Housing Companions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate the delivery of personal care and home support services
  • Recruit, orient, schedule, supervise, and evaluate Home Care Attendants, Home Support Workers, and Supportive Housing Companions
  • Exercise initiative and independent judgment in determining work priorities, work methods, and action to be taken on unusual matters
  • Function in a manner consistent with the mission, vision, and values of Southern Health-Santé Sud
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and standards
  • Develop and maintain working knowledge of Home Care systems and programs
  • Develop and maintain working knowledge of Collective Agreements
  • Develop and maintain proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications and Outlook
  • Develop and maintain working knowledge of office equipment

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in both official languages (English/French)
  • Recognized post-secondary diploma or degree in a Health-related field or Human Resource Management
  • Combination of education and work experience may be considered
  • Working knowledge of Home Care systems and programs
  • Working knowledge of relevant legislation and standards
  • Working knowledge of Collective Agreements
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications and Outlook
  • Working knowledge of office equipment
  • Minimum one (1) year experience as a Resource Coordinator
  • Minimum one (1) year supervisory experience in a unionized environment
  • Minimum one (1) year experience with electronic employee/client scheduling applications
  • Minimum three (3) years' experience in a healthcare environment
  • Demonstrated ability to schedule staff/clients in a computerized scheduling system
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative interdisciplinary environment
  • Demonstrated ability to function and make decisions independently
  • Demonstrated ability to use an analytical and inquiring approach to solve problems
  • Demonstrated ability to be flexible and well-organized
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently with minimum supervision and as a team member
  • Demonstrated ability to meet tight deadlines and work in a time-sensitive environment, managing competing priorities
  • Given the cultural diversity of our region, the ability to respect and promote a culturally diverse population is required
  • Demonstrated ability to meet the physical and mental demands of the job
  • Demonstrated ability to respect confidentiality, including paper, electronic formats, and other mediums
  • Good work and attendance record

Conditions of Employment:

  • Completes and maintains a satisfactory Criminal Record Check, Vulnerable Sector Search, Adult Abuse Registry Check, and Child Abuse Registry Check, as appropriate
  • All Health Care workers are required to be immunized as a condition of employment in accordance with Southern Health-Santé Sud policy
  • Requires a valid Class 5 driver's license, an all-purpose insured vehicle, and liability insurance of at least $1,000,000.00

Notice of Employment:

The employee occupying this indefinite term position shall receive notice equivalent to the amount of notice the employee returning from leave provides the employer.
