We are seeking highly professional and experienced Registered Practical Nurses (RPNs) to work in a variety of long term and acute care facilities in the Puslinch area.

Responsibilities

  • To provide nursing care in accordance with established policy, physician's orders, the resident plan of care, and within the scope of practice of an RPN.
  • Utilize sound nursing practice principles to ensure the delivery of excellent nursing and personal care in the assigned home area(s).
  • Ensure timely and accessible admissions for residents, including comprehensive orientation to the home and services offered
  • Ensure resident transfers and discharges are timely and safe
  • Ensure the supply, control, and safekeeping of drugs and narcotics, following protocols on assigned shifts
  • Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care to meet residents' physical, psychological, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and social needs

Requirements

  • Active registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Able to work with persons with Infectious Diseases
  • BLS Certificate
  • Valid First Aid & CPR
  • Proof of current immunizations for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, and Varicella (MMRV), and negative TB skin test within one (1) year, as well as Hepatitis B
  • Current Vulnerable Sector Police Check
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work flexible shift times (eight or twelve hours in length)
  • Ability to 'float' from unit to unit within a hospital, depending on facility needs
  • Reliability to be placed at an agreed-upon facility/unit
  • Compliance with RhynoCare Healthcare's shift acceptance/cancellation policy
