We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team at Northern Health Authority. As a Mental Health Specialist, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and support to individuals suffering from serious and persistent psychiatric illnesses.
Key Responsibilities- Provide specialized mental health assessment and treatment services to adults under the direction of the Community Outreach and Assertive Services Team (COAST) Leader.
- Assess and triage referrals, and provide treatment for individuals with more serious disorders.
- Function as a consultant/educator in the area of mental health nursing and contribute to the development of programs.
- Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary mental health team to provide direct service to individuals who cannot function independently due to major mental illnesses.
- Registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN registrant.
- A good knowledge of a wide range of case work and group skills.
- A minimum of three years experience and a valid driver's license.
- Computer skills.
