pbAbouttheOpportunity/b/ppTheGovernmentofNovaScotiaisseekingahighlyskilledGeoscientisttojointheGeologicalSurveyDivision.AsaGeologist4,youwillberesponsiblefordesigningandexecutingfield-basedgeologicalmappingandsurveystocollect,interpret,andpublishscientificdataanddetailedinformationonthebedrockgeologyoftheprovince./ppbKeyResponsibilities/b/pulliDesign,execute,andmanageadvancedgeosciencemappingprojectstoincreaseknowledgeofprovincialbedrockgeologyandproduceupdatedNovaScotiabedrockgeologymaps./liliMap,corelog,petrographicallyexamine,andconductlithogeochemicalandmicro-analyticalexaminationsofbedrockgeology./liliCollect,interpret,andintegratedetailed,timely,high-qualitybedrockmappingdatatoconstructbedrockmapsoftheprovinceatbothlocalandregionalscales./liliPublishhigh-quality,timely,andrelevantgeoscienceproductswithanemphasisonscientific/technicalpublications./liliSupervisestudentsandprojectcollaboratorsduringfieldprogramsandprojectactivities./liliCollaboratewithinternalandexternalteams,provideinputtopriority-setting,projectdesign,andprogramplanning./liliConsultwithmanagementregardingbroadprogramobjectives,long-termdivisiongoals,andprogramevaluation./liliParticipateinBranchoutreachpresentations,publications,andinternal/intergovernmentalcommittees./liliEnsureworkisperformedinaccordancewithhealthandsafetystandardsandgovernmentworkplacepolicies./li/ulpbQualificationsandExperience/b/ppTobesuccessfulinthisrole,youmusthaveadegreeinEarthScienceorGeoscience,withemphasisonknowledgeinseveralareasincludingstructuralgeology,sedimentology,andstratigraphy,mineralogy,fieldgeology,GIS,geochemistry,andgeomorphology.Youmustalsohave7yearsofrelatedexperience,oraMaster'sofScienceplus6yearsofrelatedexperience,or4yearsofrelatedexperiencewithaprovenrecordofhigh-levelproductivityandachievement./ppbWhatWeOffer/b/pulliCareerDevelopmentwithaccesstocareerguidance,tools,resources,andongoingtraining./liliEngagingworkplacewithforward-thinkingpoliciesandstrategies./liliCountlessCareerPaths./liliDepartment-specificflexibleworkingschedules./li/ulpThisisanofficeandfield-basedpositionwithextendedperiodsoffieldworkduringthesummeroperationalwindow.In-provincetraveltoprojectareasorsiteswillberequired./p
