Job Title: Certified Heavy Duty Mechanic

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Certified Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team at Canfor's Prince George Sawmill. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing mobile equipment, ensuring optimal performance and preventing breakdowns.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular maintenance checks on heavy-duty equipment, including forklifts, chip trucks, and loaders.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues to ensure optimal performance and prevent breakdowns.
  • Identify and troubleshoot problems with engines, transmissions, braking systems, and other components of heavy-duty equipment.
  • Utilize diagnostic tools and technical manuals to pinpoint issues and develop effective repair solutions.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including parts used, repairs made, and hours worked.
  • Provide detailed reports on the condition of equipment, maintenance performed, and recommendations for future actions.

Requirements:

  • Red Seal Certification
  • Experience with hydraulics and welding
  • Superior troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work in a safe and efficient manner
  • Knowledge of Cat, Kalmar, and Taylor equipment would be an asset
