About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Radiological Technologist to join our team at Nova Scotia Health Authority. As a key member of our Diagnostic Imaging department, you will be responsible for delivering patient-centered care while operating radiological/accessory equipment with minimal supervision.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of ionizing radiation principles and be able to apply the ALARA principle in their daily work. You will be responsible for effective communication in a multidisciplinary/interdisciplinary environment and fostering a culture of safety in the workplace.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Perform a variety of diagnostic or therapeutic procedures requiring the use of ionizing radiation
  • Operate radiological/accessory equipment with minimal supervision
  • Exercise independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative in daily work
  • Communicate effectively with patients, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals
  • Foster a culture of safety in the workplace

About You

We are looking for a candidate who possesses the following qualifications and skills:

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Radiological Technology
  • Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) certification
  • Nova Scotia College of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Professionals (NSCMIRTP) licensure
  • Previous experience in a similar role is an asset
  • Qualification to work in more than one Diagnostic Imaging modality is an asset
  • Basic Life Support Certification
  • Ability to use time effectively by organizing and prioritizing duties
  • Possess the physical capabilities to perform the duties of the position
  • Demonstrates initiative, organizational, and prioritizing skills
  • Comprehension of technical language to review and use manuals
  • Competencies in other languages are an asset, French preferred

Hours and Compensation

This is a long assignment full-time position with 75 hours biweekly. The successful candidate may be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan. Additionally, successful candidates may be eligible for a signing bonus or relocation assistance with a defined Return of Service contract.
