  • About the Role: We are seeking an experienced Senior FX Artist to join our team at Sony Pictures Imageworks. As a key member of our Visual Effects team, you will be responsible for designing, creating, and animating digital effects elements and methodology for computer-generated FX animation.
  • Key Responsibilities:
    • Develop and implement innovative techniques to create stunning visual effects, including fire, smoke, water, bubbles, lava, dust, and other natural phenomena.
    • Collaborate with production, supervisors, and team members to ensure seamless integration of visual effects into the project.
    • Participate in dailies, rounds, and team reviews to ensure high-quality work and meet productivity and quota targets.
    • Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and techniques, and adapt to changing project requirements.
  • Requirements and Qualifications:
    • Comprehensive knowledge of Houdini and techniques used to create stunning effects, as well as general knowledge of VEX, shading, lighting, and rendering.
    • Ability to create multiple types of digital effects from simple to moderately difficult.
    • Working knowledge of Linux-based operating systems and experience working with Katana, Nuke, and Python.
    • Strong attention to detail and a strong eye for behavior and movement relating to physical simulation in computer graphics.
  • What We Offer: As a Senior FX Artist at Sony Pictures Imageworks, you can expect a competitive salary range of $45.34 to $65.10/hr, as well as comprehensive benefits, including healthcare, tuition reimbursement, RRSPs, sick and vacation leave, and standard increases as applicable.
