About the Role
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Material Planner to join our team at Magna. As a Material Planner, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and administering the flow of direct materials to support production requirements and achieving targeted inventory objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Issue supplier schedules and releases based on MRP demand through the CMS system
- Generate shipping documentation, including customs as required
- Ensure receiving data is properly entered into the system and reflects daily activities
- Expedite PPAP-approved direct material as required to support production requirements
- Maintain accurate inventory by monitoring transactions and performing cycle counts with analysis
- Coordinate 3rd-party sort and transportation requirements as needed
- Procure and provide supplier reference numbers and supporting documentation for invoice debit/credit purposes
- Monitor supplier delivery performance and facilitate corrective action as required
- Establish transportation requirements through a formalized tender process to meet monthly measurables
- Ensure Trade Compliance for the division, including maintaining current Free Trade Agreement certifications
- Notify personnel of engineering change arrivals and update records
- Assist with developing departmental procedures and ensuring established procedures are followed
- Participate in departmental meetings and Continuous Improvement initiatives as needed
- Perform internal audits of Financial, Quality, and Environmental systems as required
- Maintain safe working practices and compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations
- Perform duties in accordance with IATF and ISO 14001 requirements
