We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Resident Care Specialist to join our team at the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority. As a key member of our care team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care and support to our residents.
Key Responsibilities- Provide assistance with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Assist with meal preparation and serving, as well as cleaning up after meals
- Participate in the development and implementation of individualized care plans
- Provide emotional support and companionship to residents
- Assist with light housekeeping and laundry duties
- Participate in training and education programs to enhance skills and knowledge
- Grade Xll education required
- Health Care Aide Certificate from recognized program
- Foundation to Therapeutic Recreation or willing to obtain
- Food Handler Training Certificate or willing to obtain
- Knowledge and understanding of basic computer skills, including Outlook/Email, and ability to adapt easily to online training programs
- Minimum of one-year recent relevant experience preferred
- Experience working with an older adult population
- Demonstrated compassionate, empathetic, and nurturing personality
- Demonstrated ability and desire to care for the older adult population
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships
- Demonstrated ability to problem-solve and adapt to changing situations
- Demonstrated flexibility and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in both official languages is essential
- Demonstrated ability to meet the physical and mental demands of the job
- Demonstrated ability to respect confidentiality and maintain resident privacy
- Work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Interact with residents, families, and staff on a regular basis
- Participate in training and education programs to enhance skills and knowledge
- Work in a team environment to provide exceptional care and support to residents
