We are an integrated project and engineering equipment fabricator specializing in modularized design and packaging of process, refrigeration, and rotating equipment solutions.
Overview of the JobThe Senior Project Engineer – Gas Processing Facilities will coordinate detailed engineering, procurement, and fabrication for assigned projects or project areas. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, this role is responsible for proactively leading, coordinating and managing the scope of work as defined in the Design Basis Memorandum (DBM) and the Project Execution Plan (PEP) to ensure Quality and Cost objectives are met and Schedule slippages are prevented and/or mitigated if necessary.
Responsibilities- Support the Project Manager or Engineering Manager in the development of the Design Basis Memorandum (DBM), Project Execution Plan (PEP), and associated plans.
- Coordinate timely involvement of key stakeholders in support of design development, minimizing cost and schedule impacts due to preventable late project changes.
- Monitor technical design changes ensuring only necessary changes are made for safety, code/spec compliance, maintainability, or operability.
- Participate in detailed design reviews, process hazard assessment, SIL analysis, constructability, operability, and maintainability reviews.
- Conduct engineering calculations, simulations, and modeling to optimize facility performance and efficiency.
- Select and specify equipment for gas processing facilities including compressors, heat exchangers, separators, and filters.
- Ensure RFQs and POs for vendor-engineered and supplied equipment are complete and accurate, minimizing changes and cost increases.
- Functionally responsible for monitoring and controlling schedule and budget adherence for Quality Engineering and Procurement Deliverables, Vendor Drawing and Data Requirements, Vendor Procurement and Fabrication Schedule Milestones, Testing/Checking/Inspection/Quality Assurance Schedule Milestones, and Shipping Schedule Milestones.
- Responsible for developing, checking, and issuing complete and accurate Engineering Work Packages (EWPs) and Construction Work Packages (CWPs).
- Manage schedules and man-hour budgets.
- Implement and maintain safety management systems, emergency response plans, and environmental monitoring programs.
- Stay updated on safety and environmental regulations, incorporating them into design and operation of gas processing facilities.
- Communicate effectively with external stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies, to ensure compliance and project success.
- Incorporate lessons learned from previous projects into current projects' engineering.
- Recognized bachelor's degree in engineering or technical diploma with mechanical, petroleum, or process bias, along with acceptable experience.
- Knowledge of typical oil and gas equipment and systems is an asset.
- 10+ years of experience in designing, engineering, and fabricating gas processing facilities.
- Strong ability to work well with customers, vendors, designers, and fabrication staff.
We offer a competitive salary range of $120,000 to $180,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
