Job Summary

Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a Medical Radiation Technologist to join the Medical Imaging Team at Bella Coola General Hospital in Bella Coola, BC.

As a Medical Radiation Technologist, you will perform diagnostic radiographic and medical imaging procedures, observing safe radiation protection practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic radiographic and medical imaging procedures/techniques and related duties, observing safe radiation protection practices.
  • Receive and complete requisitions, enter relevant data into the radiology information system, prepare patients for examination, operate radiographic and computerized imaging equipment, and maintain cleanliness of examination rooms.

Requirements

  • Current registration with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists.
  • Broad knowledge and practice of safe work procedures with diagnostic radiographic and medical imaging equipment.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform radiographic examinations in compliance with departmental standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate (orally and in writing) and deal effectively with clients and their families, co-workers, physicians, and other health care staff.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate related equipment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and in collaboration with others.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish workload priorities in collaboration with others.
  • Demonstrated ability in CPR techniques.
  • Demonstrated computer skills including the ability to effectively use a computerized client care information system.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
