About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Medical Device Reprocessing Technician to join our team at Nova Scotia Health. This is a crucial role that requires attention to detail, technical skills, and a commitment to ensuring the highest standards of patient care.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform decontamination, sterilization, reassembly, function testing, and distribution of medical and/or surgical supplies and medical devices for the operating room and various hospital areas.
  • Conduct related clerical duties and maintain accurate records.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 and completion of an approved Medical Device Reprocessing Technician Program.
  • Medical Device Reprocessing Technician Certification.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in MDR/OR with knowledge of Medical Device Reprocessing.
  • Experience operating MDR-related equipment and knowledge of Infection Control measures and Routine Practices.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Formal education in anatomy, medical terminology, microbiology, and infection control.
  • Membership with the Medical Device Reprocessing Association of Nova Scotia.
