Apollo Team: Transforming Software Deployment at Amazon

Apollo is the set of services that enables Amazon teams to automate their software release process in a fast, reliable, and predictable manner. As a key member of the Apollo team, you will drive the evolution of Amazon software abstractions, making creating and managing services easier for Amazon builders and allowing them to focus on their customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and architect new and existing systems to ensure scalability, reliability, and performance
  • Lead the definition and development of multi-tier web services, collaborating with product and program management teams
  • Partner with engineering teams to improve software development practices and patterns
  • Recruit, hire, mentor, and manage teams of software engineers to improve their skills and effectiveness
Requirements:
  • 3+ years of engineering team management experience
  • 7+ years of working directly within engineering teams experience
  • 3+ years of designing or architecting systems experience
  • 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi-tier web services experience
  • Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership
  • Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring, and managing teams of software engineers
