We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team at The Dirt Merchant Ltd. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating heavy equipment such as backhoes, loaders, and graders to perform various tasks related to construction and excavation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment
  • Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment
  • Secure special attachments to equipment
  • Operate two-way radios and other communication equipment
  • Perform minor repairs to equipment
  • Train or assist in the training of other workers
  • Perform scheduled maintenance service on equipment
Requirements:
  • Heavy Equipment Operator Trade Certification
  • Occupational Health and Safety Certificate
  • Driver's License (Class 1 or A)
  • Driver's License (Class 3 or D)
  • Air Brake (Z) Endorsement
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate
  • Hydrogen Sulphide Awareness (H2S) Certificate
  • CPR Certificate
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Construction Safety Training Systems (CSTS) Certificate
  • Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) Certificate
  • Ground Disturbance - Level II program
